Although I now live in a large metro area, I am still a country boy at heart. Born in California, but grew up in Wyoming. After graduating from Dubois High School, I attended Northwest College in Powell then went to Oregon to obtain my bachelor’s degree from Eastern Oregon University. Now retired from journalism, I live in Sun City with my wife, Jeanne. We enjoy football, bingo, road trips, jigsaw puzzles and any other activities we can do together. I have two grown children – Sara in Oregon and Evan in Idaho. Jeanne has a grown son -- Billy, in North Carolina.

An avid reader, it was in Oregon where I started what was a 40-plus year career in journalism at several newspapers in Seaside, St. Helens, Milton-Freewater and Astoria. During my career in Oregon, I won several writing awards from the Oregon Newspaper Publishers Association. I was also named Junior Citizen of the Year by the Milton-Freewater Chamber of Commerce and coached youth football for nine years. My career continued after a move to Arizona in 2004. I was editor of two newspapers in age-restricted communities – Sun City and Sun City West.

I have had a passion for writing since junior high school. I published my first book, "The Rehabilitation of Miss Little," in 2018. Six others followed and more ideas are running through my head daily. Aside from my journalism work, I have written some short stories, poetry and a song -- although none have been published. Writing provides me with an outlet for my imagination, which never seems to run out of ideas. My greatest hope is that I bring enjoyment to those who read my works.
